    Frequent Asked Questions

    Eyebrows FAQ’s

Q: Is there an age limit to get any of your services done?

A: You must be 18+ for any cosmetic tattooing procedure.

    Q: Does it hurt?

A: A gentle numbing cream is used prior to and during the Eyebrow treatment to minimize discomfort. Most of our clients feel very little pain, while some experience a small amount of soreness. We take every precaution necessary to ensure your treatment is as pain-free as possible.

Q: How long is the healing time for Eyebrow Permanent Makeup?

A: For most people, the healing time is between 7-10 days, during which you will experience some redness and scabbing. Please read and follow the Aftercare tips below.

Q: How long do Eyebrow Permanent Makeup last?

A: Eyebrow Permanent Makeup results generally last between 1-3 years, depending on various factors such as: your skin type, your commitment to the aftercare, and the amount of sun exposure. Some of our clients visit us every 6 months for a touch up, while others choose to get a touch up every 1-2 years.

Q: I have oily skin, does that affect how the Eyebrow Permanent Makeup will look?

A: Different skin types affect the results of Eyebrow Permanent Makeup. Oily skin and dark skin tones may experience more fading (resulting in the need for extra touch ups), and have the potential to produce more of a textured powder effect as the skin’s natural oils and sebum may spread the pigment more than usual.

Q: How do you choose the eyebrow shape?

A: Crista will help you determine the best eyebrow shape and colour depending on your face shape, eye size, and skin tone.

Q: How long is the appointment?

A: Eyebrow Permanent Makeup appointments are typically 1.5- 2 hours long from beginning to end, and there is no down time.

Q: Who should NOT receive the Eyebrow Permanent Makeup treatment?

A: Any type of semi-permanent or permanent makeup is NOT recommended for any clients who are or have:

    • Pregnant or nursing
    • Diabetic (consult your doctor)
    • Chemotherapy (consult your doctor)
    • Viral infections and/or diseases
    • Epilepsy
    • Pacemaker or major heart problems
    • Organ transplant
    • Skin irritations or psoriasis/eczema near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc)
    • Sick (cold ,flu, etc.)
    • Botox in the past 2 weeks

Q: What are some things I need to be mindful of BEFORE getting Eyebrow Permanent Makeup?

    • Do not work out the day of the procedure
    • Do not tan or have a sunburned face
    • Do not have any type of facial 2 weeks prior to the treatment
    • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, or Ibuprofen 24 hours before the procedure
    • No alcohol or caffeine for 2 days before the procedure
    • No waxing or tinting for 3 days before the procedure; electrolysis no less than 5 days before. Do not resume any method of hair removal for at least 2 weeks
    • Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle

Q: What is the AFTERCARE for Eyebrow Permanent Makeup?

    • No water, cleansers, creams, makeup or any other products on the treated area for 10 days
    • Do not rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally fall off. Picking can cause scarring, and your results will not last as long
    • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 3-4 weeks after the procedure
    • Avoid heavy sweating for the first 10 days
    • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days
    • No facials, Botox, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks
    • Please note that eyebrows will appear darker and bolder due to natural scabbing and healing for the first 10 days. This is very common for all semi and permanent cosmetic procedures. Results vary per individual. Oily skin and dark skin tones may experience more fading and produce more of a textured powder effect as the skin’s natural oils and sebum may spread the pigment more.
